The Heart of the Project

My name is Angela N. Moore, and I’m an independent artist and archivist. I’ve launched The Moore Archive (TMA) to turn a regular neighborhood walk into a real-life quest. I’m using Free Little Art Galleries as “secret drops” for art and stories that bridge our digital worlds with the physical earth. What I love about these galleries is that they recognize the artist that dwells inside all of us. These boutique galleries not only allow, but encourage us to share our creative passions!

THE “LEAKS” (GIFTS FOR THE FINDER)

Inside these galleries, I “leak” permanent collectibles for neighbors to find and keep. These range from my hand-signed poetry books to my Truth, 30% Off social development “comic books” designed to help kids navigate things like bullying and body image. Sometimes, it’s a hand-painted landscape I’ve personally sketched or a special reprint of my artwork. Every piece is a “labor of love” and a free gift to whoever is lucky enough to find it first.

THE QUEST (THE MOVING KEY)

The most unique part of the Archive is the “Encryption Key.” This is a single metallic card that travels from hand to hand across the country via the Geocaching Network. It isn’t meant to be kept—it belongs to the hunt. When someone finds the Key, they use the code on the back to unlock a hidden virtual art gallery. After 14 days, they “redeploy” it into another treasure spot for the next seeker to find.

THE QUIET ECHO

The Archive survives on honor. I invite anyone who finds a piece of the Archive to perform one anonymous act of kindness in their community. It’s my way of making sure that finding art on a sidewalk creates a ripple effect of wonder and good-will throughout the neighborhood

WANT TO JOIN THE HUNT?

The journey is active. If you are ready to join the hunt or want to view the Master Registry to see where the latest Archive Leaks are hidden, you can find the full project briefing at my digital terminal!
